Exploring a Mixed Team Model in Japan B21

open in viewerThis report gives our recommendations for implementing a “mixed team model” in Kyoto, Japan IQP center, and other IQP project centers. A mixed team comprises members from various backgrounds and experiences, in this case, students from Japan and WPI working together. We created a suggested model that we believe is the best fit given all the factors taken into account after collecting information from interviews with project directors, advisors, and students from previous IQP centers who used a mixed team model. Through our research, we were able to demonstrate the benefits of diversity in project work and how best to implement it to better the global learning experiences of both WPI and partnered students while providing a guideline to any other IQPs looking to use a mixed team model.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
