This project focuses on evaluating the workspace and environmental conditions in ambulance compartment. Cost, color rendering index, color temperature and lifetime of Incandescent, halogen, fluorescent and LED lighting are examined. The relative densities of polyethylene, polystyrene and oxide based foams are compared to the true density, thermal expansion coefficient and water absorption levels over 24 hours. This comparison provides an opportunity to determine the weight, flow of heat and risk of mold growth. Ventilation systems are examined to develop a better understanding of air circulation and quality in ambulance compartment. It is also shown how recent methods of ventilation improvement in other industries have been incorporated into ambulance compartment design.
