Urban Tree Mapping
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThe Asian longhorn beetle eradication program required a replicable and systematic approach to collecting data and managing Worcester's urban forest. We developed software linkages to allow multiple organizations to collaborate and record each replanted tree in a centralized database. To prove the feasibility of our approach, we collected data for approximately 525 trees and populated a flexible web-based database application that we designed. Organizations with unique data requirements can synthesize tree records and establish a single tree inventory. -
