Watersheds are regional hydrological systems that are shaped by their local geography. These systems are particularly vulnerable to change, especially when they are located near developed areas. Within Acadia National Park, the Cromwell Brook Watershed is experiencing several changes that could affect the health of the area. To help address these potential issues, designated problem areas were documented utilizing photographic and sonic techniques. This documentation constructs a baseline for future comparison, allowing researchers to determine what is impacting the watershed. Evidence gathered can then aid in future restoration actions to maintain the ecological health of the Cromwell Brook Watershed.
