Sensing technology in AVOS surface grinding processes

Público

This project involves the design of a temperature sensing device to "see through" the holes of a grinding wheel. Temperature sensors were studied. A fixture was designed to attach an Omega infrared temperature sensor to a grinding machine in Norton Company. The temperature reading of the sensor was converted to the temperature of the grinding surface through a mathematical model.
