Pipeline cover stability in the Dutch North Sea

Public

This project was conducted at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The research focused on the historical stability of submarine pipeline cover materials. Through the use of linear wave theory and the Shields Curve, wave and current induced shear stresses were calculated in order to determine the correlation between hydrodynamic conditions and pipeline exposures due to cover material erosion. This information was then used to make design improvements for rock berms.
