Creation of Transgenic Mutants to Study T-gene effects in The Post-Implantation Mouse EmbryoPublic

In order to study the effects of Brachyury (T) in the Extra Embryonic Tissues (EET) of the post-implantation mouse embryo, a transgenic mouse was created in which the Embryonic Tissue (ET) originated from foreign Embryonic Stem Cells (ESCs) and the Extra Embryonic Tissue from the original wild type. The concept of induced tetraploidy and ESC aggregation successfully created a transgenic model whose ET and EET are of separate genetic origins. The proof of concept and validation of protocol on CD1 wild type mice, allows the reapplication of the procedure for the study of the T mutation - more specifically on the morphology of Extra Embryonic Tissues in the Brachyury mouse model.
