open in viewerthrough researching the evolution of dna fingerprinting technology, it is concluded that its effects on society are of great importance. this iqp provides a basic background of how dna profiling is done and the correct methods for obtaining, transporting, and storing dna forensic samples. several landmark court cases are discussed showing a progression of acceptance of dna fingerprinting in the legal system. the purpose, ethics, and privacy rights associated with dna databases are also described, followed by the authors' conclusions about the influential effects this technology has on society.
