Investigation of Interaction of MIG-10 and ABI-1, Two Proteins Important for Neuronal Migration and Axon Guidance in C. elegans

open in viewerCytoplasmic adaptor MIG-10 plays a role in neuronal migration and process outgrowth in C. elegans. Data from a yeast-two hybrid assay indicate that MIG-10 interacts with ABI-1, a protein involved in regulation of actin polymerization and required for neuronal migration and outgrowth. To further characterize the interaction between MIG-10 and ABI-1, deletion mutants were created and co-immunoprecipitation assays and western blots were performed. Preliminary results indicate that the C-terminal SH3 region of ABI-1 is required for its interaction with MIG-10.
