The project objective is to determine whether inherently safe reactor technology will have enough of an impact on the politics surrounding nuclear power to allow nuclear power to prosper in America. The research includes an examination of inherently safe reactors, a political background of nuclear power, the current state of nuclear power in America, and interviews with persons involved in the politics of nuclear power. We conclude inherently safe reactors will not significantly alter the politics surrounding nuclear power.
