OPTIMIZING EFFICIENCY OF SWAP

Öffentlich

SWAP is a proposed idea in which a group of nonprofits share resources amongst one another. The purpose of SWAP is to allow nonprofits more opportunities to accomplish their goals by meeting resource demands and improving work capacity. Informed by nonprofit stakeholder perspectives through regular engagement, we created a model that allows nonprofit organizations to equitably share resources amongst one another. This was accomplished using a mathematical optimization model to best match nonprofits with resources they need most at a given time. We developed a working pilot and demonstrated the tool to multiple nonprofits in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Limited feedback was overwhelmingly positive with much potential for future use.
