Design of a point-of-use perchlorate treatment system

Public

Perchlorate is a highly soluble, non-reactive chemical that is released into the environment from the production and ignition of solid rocket propellant. The high solubility of perchlorate allows large quantities of the chemical to be contained in limited amounts of water. Perchlorate is not removed from the water naturally because of its inert properties. This project aims to find an economical and effective method of removing perchlorate from water that can be implemented in the home.
