This Interactive Qualifying Project is a six-week simulation exploring different trading strategies to compare two methods and determine which one is better. The two strategies used were Buy and Hold, and Swing Trading. Starting with $100,000 USD in cash for each simulation, eight companies were selected to be used for the simulation. At the end of the simulation, the Buy and Hold simulation ended with a 0.5% loss, while the Swing Trading simulation ended with a 6.8% profit. Over the period the simulation, the S&P 500 index rose 2.69%. The results suggest that Swing Trading is a stronger strategy than Buy and Hold method, beating the market by a decent margin. This project provided valuable trading insight to the participant to be used in future investments.
