Although there are over a thousand green spaces in Venice, there is no comprehensive record detailing their type, accessibility, and condition. Thus, it has been an ongoing process by the Venice Project Center to catalog Venetian green spaces. While walking each street in our target regions of San Polo and Santa Croce, we identified 221 green spaces, compiling extensive data in order to assign each space a condition rating. We further examined the suitability of public green spaces in this region using their total area and location. We subsequently formulated recommendations for the city to improve and expand access to public green spaces. Finally, we combined our results with those of past iterations of the project in an interactive and publicly accessible web app.
