Renewable Energy Applications
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerSustainability is a widely discussed topic in engineering disciplines with the concept of renewable energy often serving as a focal point. When considering solar amongst the many resources for energy production there are many different options for converting generated electrical power for storage. For this project a solar energy harvesting board was designed and built that allows for maximum power extraction from solar panels up to 250 watts, and measurement of the power extracted from the solar panels and power input to the energy storage. The system will serve as a foundation for hardware testing and future solar energy projects at WPI.
