My project was working on a part of the backend for ASSISTments, a platform that combines machine learning with education to provide feedback individually for each student. The goal is to assess the answers students provide and give customized individual feedback to them to best learn the material. I worked on two key parts of the backend. The first was focused on spinning up remote EC2 instances in Amazon Web Services with specific commands in order to run programs on startup. The second part of the backend focused on taking problems from the WPI database and storing them on AWS in a postgreSQL database.
