open in viewerAlthough there are almost 20 living indigenous cultures in Ecuador, not much is known about them by the public. Museo Pumapungo has thousands of cultural artifacts in their ethnographic reserve which they would like to make publicly available. The goal of this project was to create a website to teach people about the living cultures of Ecuador. Through interviews with museum staff, the people of the Saraguro culture, and observation of museum exhibits and existing digital archives, we determined the best methods of highlighting information about cultures. We developed a website prototype for Museo Pumapungo which displays an interactive map with the location of each culture, when clicked information about different aspects of the cultures with images from the reserves is displayed.
