Evaluating Landslide Vulnerability in Himachal Pradesh
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThe Mandi-Bajaura Road is naturally prone to dangerous landslides. We surveyed the adjacent IIT-Mandi community in Himachal Pradesh India to gauge experiences and understanding of the risks associated with landslides. We showed movement data from real-time sensors and satellite imagery to participants to determine how it changes their perception of landslide risks between North and South Campus. In general, descriptive data did not change participants’ perceptions. We developed a VR landslide simulation for future surveying and educational purposes.
