open in viewerThe aim of Electronically Controlled Exoskeletal Hand (ECEH) is to create a wirelessly controlled robotic hand that is actuated with a wearable exoskeletal controller that easily fits to a user’s hand. The controller provides the user with haptic feedback that simulates the force the robotic hand encounters when grabbing an object. The team worked to create a functional wireless hand and controller at a fraction of the cost of similarly functioning robotic hands on the market. This system was designed to maintain a high level of functionality and precision, as well as incorporate extra capabilities like haptic feedback, wireless functionality, and real-time control. ECEH’s goal is to bridge the gap of the industrialized robotic hand and end of arm tool (EOAT) market and general consumer through price point and capability.
