Diagnostic tools for industrial wireless sensors

Public

This project involved the design and implementation of a system capable of carrying out RF performance tests to determine ideal locations to install industrial wireless sensors. The system was designed to have the ability to carry out spectrum analysis and data integrity tests, which together can be used to determine the best locations to install RF products. In a field test of the system it was experimentally determined that RF systems operate best when their distance from obstructions is maximized, and that the distance between the RF units is less important. To diagnose and maintain installed RF systems, a simplified version of the analyzing system should be integrated into future products.
