Development of apparatus for HF vibration tests

Public

The goal of this project was to develop a new general use vibration test fixture for typical rack-mounted equipment used at Lincoln Laboratory. Our group characterized the existing fixture, designed a new fixture, analyzed the new design, built a three-dimensional CAD model, and developed preliminary fabrication drawings. The new fixture was designed to more accurately test rack-mounted equipment at the desired frequency range. This was achieved by increasing the fundamental resonant frequency of the new fixture above the typical sensitive range of the equipment tested.
