Autonomous Robotic Polishing System

open in viewerThis project is focused on creating a protocol creation and software to develop autonomous sanding. Computer vision is used to detect any defects or imperfections in the surface, which is then addressed during the sanding process to reveal an evenly sanded surface ready for painting. This allows for more precise and efficient sanding and can result in a better finished product. Our design of the sanding protocol and computer vision location service realizes the idea of sanding automation. Our implemented design is meant to assist auto body technicians to complete more projects in a given period of time. The automated sanding process can save time and labor costs and prevent potential injuries.
