An electrophoretic printer was constructed in cooperation with SiPix Imaging, Inc. This proof-of-concept project focused on the embedded system controller of the printer. The controller card receives images from a computer via an RS232 connection, stores up to four images in memory, controls a motor that feeds the electrophoretic media, and sends the data to a printhead using high voltage drivers. An interface informs users of the status of the printer images.
