The goal of this Major Qualifying Project was to create an automated solution to download, store, and back up data coming from PLCs installed in homes across Switzerland. PLCs at these locations monitor sensors attached to heat pumps within the homes of individual volunteers. Previously, NTB engineers manually downloaded data once a week because the process was too tedious and time consuming. To aid NTB engineers the team automated the download process and created an efficiency analysis program.
