Retrofitting a power distribution feeder

Public

The goal of this project was to determine the viability of contingency devices connected at the secondary busses of the substation. The work was based on modeling energy flow as well as economic affects of the system. The model was developed using System Dynamics, and iThink modeling software. Through the use of the model, different option and scenarios were assessed. Results showed that energy storage technologies are currently too expensive, and generation based retrofitting options are economically viable.
