A Process for Incorporating Community Perspectives in Open Space Preservation
ÖffentlichHerunterladbarer Inhalt
open in viewerPublic opinion is an integral component to land preservation decision making which previous prioritization systems have neglected. To address this, a process was created which incorporates public opinion into the land preservation process. A GIS based framework was used to generate prioritization maps from community member rankings in a focus group setting. This process is effective in gaining a better understanding of the public prioritization preferences, and can be used to build consensus in the local community.
