Course Scheduling at WPI Using Linear Optimization
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThe current course scheduling process at Worcester Polytechnic Institute often results in an inefficient assignment of courses to classrooms due to the manual work, and other challenges, involved. The goal of this project was to develop a mathematical model and a software tool that will help WPI develop a more efficient course schedule. By creating this software tool, the process of course scheduling was automated, and an improved course schedule was produced. The program allows for the integration of changes in schedule information, as well as flexibility and future expansion of the model.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
