Building the foundation for understanding the dynamics of system dynamics group modeling

This paper shows how one can utilize knowledge of groups and facilitation techniques to create better group modeling sessions in the field of system dynamics. Group dynamics and the components of group model building, including effective facilitation, is discussed. Group modeling techniques are described to depict when and how each technique should be used. The understanding of group dynamics is used to compile group modeling techniques in system dynamic group model building sessions for different types of groups.
