This Major Qualifying Project (MQP) contains the implementation of an automated website database creator (AWDC) to download web pages along with a partially completed synthetic website generator (SWG) program. Used together, these two programs offer a tool for users to perform different controlled experiments where the characteristics of web objects are explored. The proposal is that by characterizing web content through web objects, web caching mechanisms will result in higher cache hits, thus faster retrieval of web pages.
