Comparison of activated, chemically enucleated and non-enucleated mouse oocytes using cytoplasmic and centrosomal markers

This project, completed at TISVM, is a comparison of activated CF1 mouse oocytes, non-enucleated and chemically enucleated, to discern if chemical enucleation affects cytoplasmic factors, cyclin D and CDK4, or the centrosomal factors,-tubulin and pericentrin. Harvested oocytes were divided into two groups, both activated and the experimental group chemically enucleated. The groups were then compared at specific time points. Immunohistochemistry showed that chemical enucleation has no effect on distribution or concentration of cytoplasmic factors, while removing centrosomal factors.
