What is an Academic Library in the 21st Century?

open in viewerAs the world has moved into the digital age, libraries have needed to evolve. This project aims to assess WPI’s George C. Gordon Library’s monograph collection and the purpose it serves in the WPI community. Our team surveyed 201 WPI students about their relationship to books and the resources they need from the Gordon Library. Our results show that while a majority of students value having access to the monograph, students still tend to use e-books for research. Therefore, we recommend removing a portion of the monograph to allow room for additional workspaces.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
