Development of a method to analyze drugs and drug diluents using capillary electrophoresis

Public

The study of the effectiveness of capillary electrophoresis has greatly expanded over the last few years in many areas of chemistry and biochemistry. The University of Massachusetts Medical Center Drugs of Abuse Laboratory, in cooperation with Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, have undertaken a project to examine the potential of CE in separating and detecting a number of controlled substances. This report focuses on the applicability of a micellar process to separate the drug procaine and the drug diluent caffeine.
