Wildlife and vegetative analysis of savannahs

Public

The frequent non-prescribed burning of conservation land in Worcester, Massachusetts, has raised questions concerning the sustainability of small mammals and resident birds on the grounds. The objectives of this study were (1) to compare bird, mammal, and vegetative populations in three areas burned variably within the last 10 years, (2) to determine which species, if any, were relatively restricted to any of those areas, and (3) whether any observed species varied significantly and similarly in frequency among the sites.
