open in viewerThe goal of this project is to provide a wearable device that enables the user to control MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) devices with gestures. Achieving this goal will allow performing artists to better control their music. The dataglove and accompanying software will be able to detect gestures through the use of piezoresistive flex sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. These gestures will then be interpreted into audio modulation, which is used to create audio output.
