America is doing a surprisingly poor job of teaching middle school science. This project evolved into the planning of an architectural contest. Participants will be asked to conceptualize a next generation science exhibit that simulates a lunar base circa 2069. This exhibit would link with the city of Worcester’s science curriculum, and draw upon visual assets from a cooperating network of other science exhibits. The project has involved managing the creation of the "program of specifications" for the architectural contest and getting co-sponsors to fund the effort. The proposed contest will begin in September 2013 with sponsorship from SHIFTboston and the AIAA, New England Chapter.
