DNA Fingerprinting

open in viewerLaw enforcement has been greatly influenced by DNA fingerprinting. Understanding this new technology and its correct implementation are keys for its acceptance throughout society. The technology of DNA fingerprinting was investigated in the earlier chapters, while latter chapters focused on DNA ethics and legalities. We conclude that the acceptance of DNA evidence in U.S. courtrooms was not a straightforward process historically, but currently it can provide extremely powerful forensic evidence when properly performed.
