ELECTROMAGNETIC SIDE-CHANNEL ANALYSIS ON INTEL ATOM PROCESSOR
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerSide-channel attacks, in particular, power and electromagnetic analysis attacks, have gained significant attention in recent years because they can be conducted relatively easily, yet are powerful. Two types of attacks are investigated in this project: Simple Electromagnetic Analysis (SEMA), which is extremely effective against asymmetric cryptography such as Rivest Shamir-Adleman Algorithm (RSA) and Differential Electromagnetic Analysis (DEMA), which is commonly implemented against symmetric cryptography such as Advanced En- cryption Standard (AES). This project implements SEMA and DEMA attacks based on the electromagnetic radiation from the Intel Atom Processor during its execution of cryptography algorithms.
