This IQP focuses on the issues surrounding transgenic animals, such as, how transgenic animals are made, how the animals have been used, and the potential benefits and weaknesses of creating these types of animals. This paper also addresses the legal and ethical aspects of creating transgenic animals. Current legislation on such animals is described, and arguments are given for and against further regulations. This paper gives a general perspective of how transgenic animals contribute to our society and how our society reacts to their construction.
