This report describes the development of a wireless digital communication system and user interface intended for use with an electric field sensor (WPI Major qualifying Project EE-DRB-0204) in a power line proximity warning system. A complete solution was developed in this project to convert the field measurements to a digital representation, wirelessly communicate the measurements to a receiver in the crane cabin, and provide a display to warn the operator if the crane boom is dangerously close to a high voltage power line.
