Dynamic seating system design

Pubblico

The goal of this project was to design and model a dynamic seating system for use in relieving discomfort caused by lumbar extensor spasticity experienced by patients in rigid seating systems. Dynamic seating systems respond to user movement by accommodating changes in position. Several preliminary linkage designs were developed. The kinematics, dynamics, and stability of one design utilizing a torsional spring to control motion were analyzed. The results of these analyses have laid the groundwork for future development of more complex dynamic seating system designs.
