In recent years farmers markets have increased their efforts to address food insecurity. In Worcester farmers markets economic support programs have been lacking participation from the Latinx community. The first objective of this project is to identify barriers between farmers markets and the Latinx community. The second objective is to analyze programs and categorize them based on their approach to improving farmers market accessibility. Different approaches to provide economic support, a variety of locations, and times for customers, and to encourage Community Engagement was noted. Because of the conditions in Worcester, a mixture of Community Engagement and Cultural Representation are the two facilitators that could help make farmers markets more accessible to the Latinx community.
