Root cause analysis to improve on-time delivery at Mercury Wire

Public

In this project, root cause analysis, a problem solving method that continues to ask why an issue is occurring, was used to determine the causes of late deliveries at Mercury Wire. Long queue times caused lengthy lead times; negatively affecting Mercury's on-time delivery. These queue times occur in part because of resource sharing and interrupted jobs. Once the problem was discovered, our team helped Mercury develop ways of tracking on-time delivery, and resource sharing by value stream.
