Student Work

Parking alternatives on the WPI campus

Public

This major qualifying project studied the problem of parking in the WPI community. The capacity of the study area was established by talking to the WPI Police and visually counting available spaces. Then parking lots were monitored and e-mail surveys taken to determine the community demand and average turnover time. After analysis, it was determined that the most cost-effective solution would be to construct a five-story parking garage over the Library/Kaven Hall lot shuttle bus from the Grove Street parking area, and not alter the parking capacity around the Quad.
