ÖffentlichHerunterladbarer Inhalt
open in viewerThis IQP examined the relationship between WPI, its alumni, and the industrial development of the city of Worcester. Through local sources and first-hand interviews, the history of a handful of companies that were heavily influenced by WPI graduates was examined. The development of Coghlin Electric, Riley Stoker, Heald Machine, Rockwood Sprinkler, Jamesbury, and others illustrate the strong and lasting relationship between the school and the city’s industry. WPI significantly aided in the development of a uniquely diverse industrial city in central Massachusetts.
