Design of a Hall effect gear position sensor with ±1° timing accuracy

Public

This project uses a Hall effect sensor to monitor the rotation of a gear. The function of the system is to produce a square wave pulse every time a gear tooth passes the Hall effect sensor. The sensor output is an analog waveform that will be compared to a reference level to produce the square wave output. The reference level is the waveform's offset, which must be set adaptively since the amplitude of the sensor output can vary widely.
