The potential to utilize the material properties of wettability of a surface, concerning the hydrophobic and hydrophilic characteristics are significant to cell adhesion on surfaces. The use of wettability properties correlated with geometric surface features is valuable particularly in applications where other factors are not as advantageous. The hydrophobicity of a surface can be affected by chemically active groups, as well as the geometric features at micron scale level. The report aimed to count cell coverage of a surface when compared to other surfaces treated with different sandpaper grits, which would differentiate between adherent and non-adherent surfaces, rather than the adherent strength.
