Effects of Stress and Nicotine on ADHD Rat Models

open in viewerThis study investigated the effects of stress and nicotine for ADHD and normal subjects. Rat models were used. Greater nicotine sensitization was hypothesized for the ADHD model compared to the control. It was further hypothesized that sensitization would be amplified when stress was coupled to nicotine for both models. The amplification is quantified by the increased locomotion and decreased sensitization rate. The results supported the first hypothesis, however, locomotion decreased with the coupled stimuli.
