open in viewerThe purpose of this project was to identify which tourist populations visiting Hong Kong have the greatest potential to consume shark fin soup and to design processes dissuading tourists from consuming it. In our investigation alongside the HK Shark Foundation we surveyed tourists and researched the promotion of shark fin soup abroad. Our focus then shifted to Japanese tourists who, based on our research, are likely to be significant consumers of shark fin soup. Two types of interventions were prototyped, a mobile application and a script for an archetypal story. These interventions target Japanese elderly and young adult tourists respectively. Keywords: Shark, Tourism, Hong Kong, Shark fin soup, value-based behavior
