Enclosed Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

open in viewerEnclosing vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) could increase the efficiency of the turbines; In addition, a wind funneling system may help further benefit the power output. Wind tunnel testing concluded that enclosing VAWTs shows potential to increase efficiency. Additional wind tunnel designs were completed to look for further increases in efficiency through wind funneling.
