Modularized fixture design for ECM of turbine engine blisk

Public

This Major Qualifying Project was done under the sponsorship of General Electric, Aircraft Engines Division. The project objective was to design a fixture that would reduce the setup time in an electrochemical machining process. We analyzed the existing fixtures and produced a new design by eliminating fixture features that require unnecessary, time consuming steps. The new fixture attains the goal of setup time reduction while maintaining all functional requirements for a fixture in the corrosive electrochemical-machining (ECM) environment.
